Ever wondered where reggaeton really came from? Who laid the foundation? How did the sounds of the Caribbean take over the world? And why does nobody talk about some of the people who made it happen?
Welcome to Perreo 101® — where we get into the music, the history, and all the cultura behind the perreo. From old-school classics and underground sounds to the artists, producers, and movements that changed the game, we’re breaking it all down one episode at a time.
Come for the music, stay for the lore. Porque para entender el perreo, hay que conocer la historia.
Ever wondered what makes a reggaeton beat a reggaeton beat? We’re breaking down the sounds, rhythms, subgenres, and musical influences that make the genre what it is.
Through interviews with artists, creators, and cultural contributors, we get into the stories, experiences, and perspectives that bring reggaeton’s history to life.
